My IVF Cost – Choosing a Clinic

Can you believe it, at last we have actually taken the leap of faith and made our decision! This was actually a very hard part of the process, to say enough is enough, we have gathered as much information as is reasonable, and now we have to make a choice and get things moving.

So where have we chosen I hear you ask? Well, we are going to the Kaali Inst. IVF Centre in Hungary.

What made us choose this centre. Well there were a number of factors. I had some great clinics on my shortlist and a number of the doctors had been truely fantastic at answering questions both from myself and others of you who also wanted some answers. I was feeling very pulled toward three places in particular:

The Nairobi IVF Centre in Kenya – Mr. Olegs Tucs has been brilliant at answering questions and on top of this we love Africa!

The New Hope Fertility Centre in Mexico – Dr Alejandro Chavez-Badiola has also been excellent at answering questions, and the idea of less medication with the mini IVF was incredibly appealing to me – I hate medications!

The Kaali Inst. IVF Centre in Hungary – Dr. Peter Kovacs was actually the first person I ever contacted about IVF, long before I ever even considered starting this site. His response was very good and answered all of my questions without having the structure of questioning that I later developed for other clinics. My husband and I went to Hungary for the first time a few years ago and absolutely fell in love with it. On top of all this Hungary is only a 2.5 hour flight away from us in the UK.

To be honest, I think what swung it the most for us was the convenience of Hungary to us. It was difficult to choose between the clinics, they all seemed to satisfy us , however the cost of the long haul flights was significantly adding to the overall cost of the treatment. The price of the treatment in Hungary was very reasonable and so it made total sense to choose the Kaali Inst. IVF Centre – first consultation appointment made for the 26th October 2009!

Hi Sue. Would like to ask if you had any feedbacks of IVF in Taiwan?

  4. Comment by admin

    Hi Monica,

Unfortunately I haven’t had any feedback on IVF in Taiwan so far, in fact I don’t think I have even written to any clinics there – I’ll have to have a look and see if I can find any.

    All the best,
    Sue

Thank you so very much for all your amazing efforts! Such wonderful & helpful infortmation. You are truely a godsend! Thank you for being so kind and generous.
Of course I;m very curious as to your results thus far. I’m 45 and obviously completly freaked out by it all. But I can’t NOT try. I must or I will never accept it. I am going to look into Mexico as I live in Miami, quite close of a trip. Like you going to Hungary. Anyway, I wish you all the best and truely hope that you have found success.
    Peace
    D.

    Hi Danya,

I know what you mean when you say you feel completely freaked out by it all – I go in and out of this state regularly and sometimes think it is easier to just do nothing (which is the state I seem to be in at the moment – life just takes over). You go for it, as you say you can’t NOT try.

I wish you every luck, and do let me know how you get on.

    All the very best,
    Sue

    Hi Sue

I found your website after searching google. Great website. Any news yet on your quest for a child? I hope this question is not too intrusive. Both my husband and I are both 47. I had a child 23 years ago and looking to have another one at this late stage in life.

Dr Kovacs sounds like a good candidate clinic in regards to costs involved, distance (Im in the UK) and also customer service.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks

    Lela

    Hi Lela,

Unfortunately my quest seemed to come to a halt. By the time I got thyroid issues sorted out etc. life just seemed to take over and business was so busy every thing else just seemed to migrate to the back burner.

Peter Kovacs is great, we were really impressed by him, and many others who have contacted me after being there have also been very impressed. It is certainly worth contacting him and seeing how you feel about his response. It is very convenient for travelling to from the UK, just a short flight away, and when you get there accomodation etc. is cheap.

I wish you every luck in your journey – please let us know how you get on.

    All the very best,
    Sue

Hi i was just wondering what your treatment cost in total including ivf doctors fees etc?? Im planning to have ivf carried out in the next year or two but i want to plan ahead to save if i already have a sperm donor and needed an egg would this make any difference to the price???

  15. Comment by admin

    Hi Rebecca,

I have not completed treatment but from others who have used the Khali Inst. the full cost has come in less than was quoted to me in my original enquiry (http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information). Siobhan has posted her actual costs in the comments section on that link, which is worth checking out.

    All the best,
    Sue

i wnat to know the cost of ivf

  17. Comment by admin

    Hi Doris,

The cost varies reatly by country and clinic. To get an idea of the costs go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/a-comparison-of-the-ivf-cost-worldwide, which will show you the expected costs in each country. You can then go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information and click on the countries you are interested in, then click on the clinic headings and that will give you all the details directly from the clinic in answer to my letter which I sent to them – which includes a request for the costs.

    All the best,
    Sue

Hello, great website. Question, is there a regulation in Hungary law mandating an age limit for IVF or is this a policy made by the clinics?

  19. Comment by admin

    Hi Tasha,

I’m not sure, I have forwarded your question to Peter Kovacs and hopefully we will hear back soon (if he replies to you and not me it would be great if you could let us know the answer)

    All the best,
    Sue
