My IVF Cost
After much research and deliberation. Lots of umming and ahing. At last we have actually made the positive move towards our own IVF treatment.
If you would like to follow our journey and see how the IVF cost adds up as we go along then click below.
could you let me know the price for IVF treatment?
Hi Itajaci,
You can see how the cost of my IVF adds up as we go along by going to http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/my-ivf-cost.

i m 28 yrs old
married life period is 7 yrs
fail to acheive a baby, kindly tell me the whole process of ivf, is it possible to have a baby with this treatment. also tell me the cost
reply me as possible
Dear Ishika,
I forwarded your question to Peter Kovacs at the Kaali Inst and he did try to email you but the email did not go through. So here is his reply:
Hi,
Your question was forwarded to me. I wonder if you had any infertility
evaluation yet? If not then the following tests are needed as a minimum:
1. Cycle day 3 FSH, LH, estradiol, PRL, TSH hormone measurement.
2. Semen analysis.
3. Hysterosalpingogram to check the tubes.
If based on the results you need IVF it follows these steps. We usually
start with an initial consultation (preferably in the first half of the
cycle). During this meeting we review the past infertility records, review
the treatment itself and set a schedule up. If further tests are needed we
provide you with a list. You are also given a treatment plan and the
following details, dates can be set up via email. This is a one day visit
to the Clinic in Budapest. The appointment for the consultation can be set
up by email. If you write me when you could come I can get back to you with
availability. There is no waiting list in our clinic but you should give me
a few weeks notice to make sure that enough time can be spent with you.
Most IVF cycles are preceeded by some type of pretreatment. Most often this
is a brief course of oral contraceptives. The stimulation is started after
the pill. You can do the first 5 days of stimulation while at home, we only
need to see you on day 6 of stimulation. Usually another 5 days of
stimulation follows before we move on with the egg retrieval and embryo
transfer. This altogether means a 10-12 days stay in Budapest. You may
travel as early as the day of transfer.
The total expense of an IVF treatment is made up of three parts. The
evaluation (consultation, labs, ultrasound etc.) is about 300 EUR if done
by us. Most of the evaluation can be performed by your local physician as
well. An IVF cycle is 1500 EUR, if ICSI is needed as well it is an
additional 500 EUR. If the medications are purchased in Hungary on average
they cost 600-800 EUR. Medication costs vary however based on ovarian
response. Please let us know if you have any further questions about our
IVF program!
Sincerely,
Peter Kovacs MD

All the best,
Sue
I am a 38 years old woman, I had kids before I married my present husband. And I also had my tubes tied for the pass 5 years, is it possible for me to have kids again? If so pls advise me how do I goabout the IVF thing? pls tell me how much is the cost
glad you are getting to move forward
my wife and i would love to have a baby. i am 52 and she is 37. she has one child, age 12, and she was conceived by in-vitro. what can we do safely but yet financially feasible?
Hi James,
As far as the research that I have done I have not found anything that seems to indicate that IVF is anything but safe. I had the same question as you – what can we do that is financially feasible? It certainly seems much more financially feasible to go abroad and I have found that, being in the UK, Hungary is much cheaper for the treatment and is easily accessible with a short flight and well priced accommodation – as well as being a beautiful country. It is worth emailing Peter Kovacs to see how he can help. The information that he gave me can be found at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information and his email address is info@ivfpregnancycenter.com – he is generally very quick at answering emails.
I wish you the very best of luck,
Sue
I’m 35 years old and have a son. My partner and I have no fertility problems and no genetic material problems at all but would like to have a baby girl using a scientifically sure way as we have always wanted to have 2 children only. How much will that cost us?
Hi Annie,
I must admit I don’t know how much gender selection costs. I know that it is possible in many of the Indian clinics. It could be worth giving My Kini a call, I know he does it – see the posting for his clinic at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-miracle-advanced-reproduction-research-centre-india-great-information.
All the best,
Sue
hi,i am 40 yrs woman, i am planing to do ivf. i live in uk.and working . how many month need for ivf treatmentplease replay for me thanks
Hi Laxmi,
The amount of time that you have to spend in the country to undergo the IVF treatment varies depending on which clinic you go to. For my treatment in the Kaali Inst in Hungary I need to be there for 2 weeks – this seems to be fairly standard but some clinics do want you for 3 or 4 weeks. It is one of the questions that I asked each of the clinics when I emailed them, so the length of time you need to be there is generally given in the posting for the clinic. To see these responses go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, click on the country you are interested in, then click on the title for the clinic you are interested in – their full response to my email will be there.
All the best,
Sue
Thank you so much for the imformations shared.
It’s a pleasure Joseph, the more we share the easier it becomes for other people – or that’s my hope at least!

Estoy interesada en el costo total o un aproximado costo para una inseminacion o un IVF. Se les agradase su pronta contestacion y ayuda.
Hi Aide,
From my post on the Kaali Inst. at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information, the costs are:
“The total expense of an IVF treatment is made up of three parts. The evaluation (consultation, labs, ultrasound etc.) is about 300 EUR (approx. US$410) if done by us. Most of the evaluation can be performed by your local physician as well. An IVF cycle is 1500 EUR (approx. US$2,035), if ICSI is needed as well it is an additional 500 EUR (approx. US$680). If the medications are purchased in Hungary on average they cost 1000-1200 EUR (approx. US$1,355 – US$1,625). Medications costs vary however based on ovarian response.”
All the best,
Sue
Hola Aide,

I stumbled upon this website because I write articles for an online paper whcih pays almost nothing, however I am an infertility survivor and this gives me a forum to hopefully help others in my situation. I am posting here for two reasons, one there is a drawing at CNY fertility center in NY for free IVF giveaway as a promotion for infertility awareness week. I will post a link as soon as I write something up on it. Also, my husband and I had 3 miscarriages, followed by 10 yrs of unexplained infertility, and then clomid with a miscarriage, one IVF resulting in another miscarriage, and then one more IVF cuminating in a negative result. Following, I needed a break, and decided to do my own research. Now, mind you, I had very good Dr’s as my IVF physicans, Dr Sher to name one. They all told me unexplained infertility, well also some very rare autoimmune issues. I took all the recommended additions to the normal IVF protocol including IVIG and heparin shots. Anyway, during my break I concluded that I may have an acidic uterine environment, and as such would have an issue if my husband had more male sperm than female. So, I removed all acid producing foods and began taking a pregnancy tea with red rasberry leaf in it. One month later I was pregnant, I new that it had to be a boy, and sure enough without any problems I gave birth to a beautiful little baby boy. Wait there’s more, when my son was about 15 months old we became pregnant with…you quessed it another boy. I now have a 32 month old and an 8month old boy! Also, the tea was the only addition I made, now you may call it a coincidence, however I have 3 more people who became pregnant, all with boys and all with primary or secondary infertility after drinking the tea. Anyway, I hope this helps someone. My Dr’s told me that I needed to explore other options, meaning surrogacy, and or adoption because they did everything and couldn’t believe that I didn’t fall pregnant. Also, we put back 4(chemical pregnancy) and 3 embryos. I implore you to do the research yourselves, NO embryo can live in a hostile environment, so whether or not you put in one embryo or 20 the results will still be the same. I wish you all an armful of happiness.

Thanks for this Kat1323. May I ask what you needed to do to remove all acid producing foods from your diet?
All the best,
Sue
Sue,
Truthfully, to remove acid from my diet I simply just stopped drinking orange juice, which is something I did quiet often in case I did happen to get pregnant and need the folic acid. I also did not eat high acid producing foods, such as tomatoes. I just did a quick search on alkaline and red raspberry leaf as I think this was the major addition that helped me not only conceive, but carry to term. This is what I found. “Dr. Jensen believes we should have seventy percent alkaline-forming foods and thirty percent acid-forming foods. When we say that, we’re not talking about acid fruits and non-acid fruits. We’re talking about the fact that all fruits and vegetables, in their final breakdown, have an alkaline effect on the body, and starches, even good starches, even good grains, have an acid effect. So in order to keep a good acid/alkaline balance in the pH of the body, you need to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables—a lot more than we’re eating.” retrieved from http://www.goodhealthinfo.net/herbalists/diane_brigida.htm
I hope this helps. The only other addition I can add is that, trying to remove acid you have the possibility of having to everything to gain and nothing to loose.
Good Luck!
Thanks Kat1323, very helpful.
I have read that red raspberry leaf tea is for the latter stages of pregnancy and is thought to be harmful in the early stages. Obviously you did not find this. I’ll give it a go.
All the best,
Sue
Sue,
You’re right I also found the same literature, however it has been used in China for centuries. Yet, because I was worried I used Pregnancy Tea by traditional medicinals, however I’m sure their are alot of brands out there. Also, red raspberry leaf is used in large amounts to prepare for birth, but for this purpose the amount is minimal, again as I said pregnancy tea worked best for me. I do think that Dr’s are busy (rightfully so considering their work) looking for the large problem that they sometimes miss the very simple important fact that the home of the uterus must be a heathly environment for the baby to develop. My Dr told us we had a dq alpha issue, I had ATA’s and APA’s (rare), and that I would need IVIG to have any hope of having a baby, so I took it faithfully, and not even a glimmer of a BFP. Also, when I was 10 weeks along I called my dr scared and asked if I would need IVIG, he told me that it was probably too late and that I might miscarry, granted at this point I was spotting. I just seem to spot with my pregnancies however, and I went on as I said to have an uneventful yet wonderful pregnancy.
Again Good Luck! I really do wish you and everyone here all the best as I know this road is a difficult one.
Also, I did write a quick article about the CNY IVF giveaway here’s the link if anyone needs it.

Hi Jharenz,
The best way is to put any of the costs given on the site (most have been converted in to US$) and put them through a currency converter. I use http://www.xe.com/ucc/ which has SAR.

Hi Aparna,
Check out the costs of Indian IVF clinics at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/india – there are a few to choose from there.
I found some of the tea Kat1323 talks about at Amazon of all places, but I don’t know where you would get it in India.

The only figure I have ever found for the Dominican Republic was one of US$8,300. This was an actual figure from 2008 but unfortunately I don’t know which clinic it was for.
All the best,
Sue
We just married and are ready to have a child. I am 46 and he in 40 . We need the most effective and least costly rought.
Hi April,
Do you have any thoughts on what part of the world you want to go to? Knowing which is the most effective clinic is the hardest question of all, and one I wish we could all find the answer to! If you know which part of the world you want to go (a rough guide to the costs for each country can be found at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/a-comparison-of-the-ivf-cost-worldwide), then check out the postings for the clinics I have had responses from in that country by clicking on the country name at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, and then on the clinic names. Some of the clinics do have comments from people who have used them, which is always very useful indeed.

hi…. i’ve been a fan of your website for a long time. i wanted to ask for your advise…. i would like to have ivf treatment abroad (live in the uk) with an egg donor… but dont know the cost of this. is it cheaper or more expensive than normal ivf? roughly how much does it cost as your price list is only for ivf. thank you so much…
Hi Sandra,
IVF with donor eggs is more expensive than standard IVF as you are also paying for the eggs. In South Africa the cost of Donor Egg IVF is $5000 – $6000 (http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-in-south-africa-with-donor-eggs-or-surragacy-good-price-and-a-great-idea) I don’t have the cost of Donor Egg IVF for many clinics but if you have a clinic / country in mind let me know and I’ll ask them for you.
All the best,
Sue
Hi Sue,
Just to let you know we went and saw Dr Kovacs what a wonderfull man and everything went well. Brought the drugs back to the UK!! and start my injections on Aug 16th and fly back out on the 22nd to have the treatment, everything seems to be going too well at the moment!!! Apart from taking folic acid is there anything else you recommend in readiness? Oh and havent needed a mammogram but thanx for getting back to me anyway.
Once again many thnx for your hard efforts on this site u really are helping soo many people will keep u posted.
Hi Mandy,
That is fantastic, I have my fingers crossed for you. Peter Kovacs is great isn’t he. I think the main thing is to keep your stress levels down – difficult when you’re pumping yourself full of injections and wondering what the outcome will be! Perhaps a good time to pamper yourself with massages and spa days (Hungary is a great place for massages and spas!)
We wish you so much luck, can’t wait to hear how you get on.
Sue xxx
hi am 36yrs lady no kids i have been trying for a long time nothing happen ,i went for blood test i find at that i have thyriod and my period have have stop for a long time do u think ivf will be good for me? pls reply me
Hi Sussess,
You’re in a very similar situation to the one I found myself in, only you’re younger. You will need to get your thyroid issue sorted out – I got put on thyroxine – as this apparently has an impact on the success of IVF, but then IVF should be suitable for you. Have a chat with you GP about the thyroid then contact one of the IVF clinics about their treatment. The fact that your periods have stopped should not matter.
I wish you every luck.
All the best,
Sue
Hi,
I am a 57 year old woman living in the USA, Idaho. I have known for quite some time that I cannot become pregnant. I heard about the 70 year old woman in India that gave birth to a baby girl recently. Although i am not that old, it inspired me to think about trying to have a baby through the same process that this woman succeeded in. I would really like to know the best way to go about things at a reasonable cost. I would also like to know where would be the best and closest area to achieve a successful IVF treatment.
I have always wanted a child of my own.
Thank you for your time and am looking forward to a response asap,
Cynthia Aldana
Hi Cynthia,
The closest place for you would probably be Mexico (check out the clinics I have information for at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/mexico). I don’t know what their age policy is in Mexico, some clinics do have a maximum age they will treat – for many of them I have passed that maximum age too! But don’t give up, there are clinics out there with no age limit, although I would imagine they will be recommending donor eggs – many of them did for me. If you find Mexico is not suitable send me another message letting me know if there are any countries you would not be interested in going to and I’ll ask some of the clinics if they would treat you.
I wish you every luck.
All the very best,
Sue xx
Hi again Cynthia,
I have just had a look through my records, and although I do not have a record of the maximum age a clinic will treat for many of the clinics I do have it for a few. The following clinics have no maximum age restrictions:
1. NEW IVF TEAM gmo@online.ms http://newivf.com Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
2. Die KinderWunschKlinik, Fertility Center Wels office@BABY4you.at http://www.baby4you.at Austria
3. Center for Human Reproduction “Dimitrov” plamen@ivf.zzn.com http://www.invitro.bg Bulgaria
4. West Mexico Fertility a.chavez@badiolaconsultores.com Mexico
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Sue
Pl can any body send the approx cost for IVF and success rate of IVF.
Can any body suggest one good hospital of IVF in Pune, India.
Urgent reply is appreciated.

Debashis
Hi Debashis,
I’m afraid the only clinics I have had a response from in India are shown at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/india. Hopefully somebody else may have some suggestions.
All the best,
Sue
hi sue,
thanks for your response…. i live in london. so would like somewhere nearer. we found today my husband’s sperm is low (5%)…:( — a friend has volunteered to be a donor!!
might consider… please advise me, in your experience is: icsi with known donor in uk more expensive than icsi with unknown donor abroad???? thanks for your time…
Hi Sandra,
I’m afraid I don’t know enough about the cost with donor eggs but I would imagine that in some countries, such as Hungary, the cost with unknown donor eggs will be cheaper than the cost in the UK with known donor eggs. You could drop Peter Kovacs at the Kaali Inst an email at info@ivfpregnancycenter.com and ask the price (these are one of the cheapest around Europe, so fairly close to you, and they are great)
All the best,
Sue
thankyou for your VERY prompt reply…. i just wrote to Dr. Peter Kovacs – will let you know his response. thanks
Hi i was just wondering if you can tell me all the information i need to know about IVF, im 26 years old, have a severe case of endometriosos and im having my third operation in 3 years for ovarian cysts. Any information is greatful.
Thanking you
amy caffrey
Hi Amy,
I have had a response regarding your situation, please see below.
All the best,
Sue
Response:
dear amy
endometriosis is a repeating problem. are u draining the cyst transvaginally or laparascopically or opening the abdomen? ivf increases the chance of pregnancy . as pregnancy stops menstruation for a long time ur suffering will be less. . expansion of many organs during pregnancy helps in decreasing the endometritic adhesions. sometimes the tubes are affected . ivf helps in that case also.

Thanks for everything, I’m so glad that I spoke to you and found such a wonderful fertility treatment. If you need to visit this hospital then feel free here: 1.303.578.0719, info@placidway.com
I have had a very good experience with the Anadolu clinic just outside Istanbul. I did lots of research on clinic in Turkey and asked similar questions to Sue. This clinic was my first choice http://www.anadolumedicalcentre.co.uk/
They also said there was no wait list. I tested the latter out by asking on the Thursday, if I could arrive on Sunday to start treatment the next week – they said no problem. So, after deciding on the Thursday, I confirmed with hospital (and accommodation), I booked flights on Friday, spent Saturday cancelling appointments and meetings. Flew out Sunday, saw doctor on Monday, started IVF on Tuesday. It was all a bit of a rush, but as my husband said – why wait, you will just be another month older next month?
The Anadolu International patient team speak several languages and most (if not all) speak English as well. They are incredibly organised, friendly and professional and are always available to assist. They accompany you to appointments (although the doctors speak English, they translate for the nurses) and answer any questions you have. They arrange some of the logistics (e.g. accommodation and airport transfers). The best thing is that if feels like you are getting a personalised service.
18. Costs (PLEASE Be aware of different currencies below – also costs are approximate as some were translated from Turkish Lira)
18.1. Blood tests:
18.1.1. Female blood/hormone tests: Euros 300 (I had them done at clinic)
18.2. Medication (total cost was 1700 Euros):
18.2.1. Puregon 600 IU = Euro 250 (3750 IU was my total dosage cost about 1250 Euros). For interests sake – the vials contain a little more than is written on the box – so a 600 IU actually has about 700 IU in it, which meant I saved a whole box by using up the whole of the vial before moving onto the next one). This is a high dosage – probably because of my age and thus this meant much higher costs than originally expected on the medication side.

Hello, everyone!
I wanted to answer the question pertaining to the Donor Egg IVF cycles. We work with several clinics that offer excellent donor egg programs. Depending on the complexity of the IVF procedure (e.g. ICSI, etc.), the all inclusive Donor Egg IVF package will start at $12,999. This package includes airfare for two, airport transfers, hotel accommodations, and egg donor fees. We can also offer you two or three cycle IVF programs, if you are interested. Our two cycle program is priced at $14,499 (this price does not include travel costs associated with the second trip). Our IVF doctors and you can discuss various options with you.
If I can be of any further assistance, don’t hesitate to contact me. My email address is Heidi@theMedVacation.com

Hi! I just had a failed IVF this month in Philippines. I’m 36 y.o and my husband has poor sperm quality, motility and morphology. 4eggs were harvested and only one got fertilized. I got a positive HCG on the 14th day after transfer but it dropped after another 5days. So sad! Now, we’re considering either Taiwan or Thailand. Which of these two you think would help me have greater chance? thanks much!
Wishful2010, if our doctors were to look at your case, we would need a bit more information from you. We typically asked our prospective patients to fill out our multi-page IVF questionnaire. The purpose of this form to get as much pertinent information as possible. Often our doctors get back to you with more questions or with a request to get some additional testing done.
I don’t know whether you address your post to me or the group. If you were asking me, send me a note and I will forward you our questionnaire. By the way, what country do you reside in?
Don’t lose your hopes….. stay strong…. and hopefully you will be blessed with a miracle!
