    Dear Ishika,

I forwarded your question to Peter Kovacs at the Kaali Inst and he did try to email you but the email did not go through. So here is his reply:

    Hi,
Your question was forwarded to me. I wonder if you had any infertility
evaluation yet? If not then the following tests are needed as a minimum:
    1. Cycle day 3 FSH, LH, estradiol, PRL, TSH hormone measurement.
    2. Semen analysis.
    3. Hysterosalpingogram to check the tubes.
If based on the results you need IVF it follows these steps. We usually
start with an initial consultation (preferably in the first half of the
cycle). During this meeting we review the past infertility records, review
the treatment itself and set a schedule up. If further tests are needed we
provide you with a list. You are also given a treatment plan and the
following details, dates can be set up via email. This is a one day visit
to the Clinic in Budapest. The appointment for the consultation can be set
up by email. If you write me when you could come I can get back to you with
availability. There is no waiting list in our clinic but you should give me
a few weeks notice to make sure that enough time can be spent with you.
Most IVF cycles are preceeded by some type of pretreatment. Most often this
is a brief course of oral contraceptives. The stimulation is started after
the pill. You can do the first 5 days of stimulation while at home, we only
need to see you on day 6 of stimulation. Usually another 5 days of
stimulation follows before we move on with the egg retrieval and embryo
transfer. This altogether means a 10-12 days stay in Budapest. You may
travel as early as the day of transfer.
The total expense of an IVF treatment is made up of three parts. The
evaluation (consultation, labs, ultrasound etc.) is about 300 EUR if done
by us. Most of the evaluation can be performed by your local physician as
well. An IVF cycle is 1500 EUR, if ICSI is needed as well it is an
additional 500 EUR. If the medications are purchased in Hungary on average
they cost 600-800 EUR. Medication costs vary however based on ovarian
response. Please let us know if you have any further questions about our
    IVF program!
    Sincerely,
    Peter Kovacs MD

    Budapest, Hungary

    All the best,
    Sue

my wife and i would love to have a baby. i am 52 and she is 37. she has one child, age 12, and she was conceived by in-vitro. what can we do safely but yet financially feasible?

  10. Comment by admin

    Hi James,

As far as the research that I have done I have not found anything that seems to indicate that IVF is anything but safe. I had the same question as you – what can we do that is financially feasible? It certainly seems much more financially feasible to go abroad and I have found that, being in the UK, Hungary is much cheaper for the treatment and is easily accessible with a short flight and well priced accommodation – as well as being a beautiful country. It is worth emailing Peter Kovacs to see how he can help. The information that he gave me can be found at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information and his email address is info@ivfpregnancycenter.com – he is generally very quick at answering emails.

I wish you the very best of luck,
    Sue

I’m 35 years old and have a son. My partner and I have no fertility problems and no genetic material problems at all but would like to have a baby girl using a scientifically sure way as we have always wanted to have 2 children only. How much will that cost us?

  12. Comment by admin

    Hi Annie,

I must admit I don’t know how much gender selection costs. I know that it is possible in many of the Indian clinics. It could be worth giving My Kini a call, I know he does it – see the posting for his clinic at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-miracle-advanced-reproduction-research-centre-india-great-information.

    All the best,

hi,i am 40 yrs woman, i am planing to do ivf. i live in uk.and working . how many month need for ivf treatmentplease replay for me thanks

  14. Comment by admin

    Hi Laxmi,

The amount of time that you have to spend in the country to undergo the IVF treatment varies depending on which clinic you go to. For my treatment in the Kaali Inst in Hungary I need to be there for 2 weeks – this seems to be fairly standard but some clinics do want you for 3 or 4 weeks. It is one of the questions that I asked each of the clinics when I emailed them, so the length of time you need to be there is generally given in the posting for the clinic. To see these responses go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, click on the country you are interested in, then click on the title for the clinic you are interested in – their full response to my email will be there.

    All the best,
    Sue

It’s a pleasure Joseph, the more we share the easier it becomes for other people – or that’s my hope at least!
