My IVF Cost
After much research and deliberation. Lots of umming and ahing. At last we have actually made the positive move towards our own IVF treatment.
If you would like to follow our journey and see how the IVF cost adds up as we go along then click below.

could you let me know the price for IVF treatment?
Hi Itajaci,
You can see how the cost of my IVF adds up as we go along by going to http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/my-ivf-cost.

i m 28 yrs old
married life period is 7 yrs
fail to acheive a baby, kindly tell me the whole process of ivf, is it possible to have a baby with this treatment. also tell me the cost
reply me as possible
Dear Ishika,
I forwarded your question to Peter Kovacs at the Kaali Inst and he did try to email you but the email did not go through. So here is his reply:
Hi,
Your question was forwarded to me. I wonder if you had any infertility
evaluation yet? If not then the following tests are needed as a minimum:
1. Cycle day 3 FSH, LH, estradiol, PRL, TSH hormone measurement.
2. Semen analysis.
3. Hysterosalpingogram to check the tubes.
If based on the results you need IVF it follows these steps. We usually
start with an initial consultation (preferably in the first half of the
cycle). During this meeting we review the past infertility records, review
the treatment itself and set a schedule up. If further tests are needed we
provide you with a list. You are also given a treatment plan and the
following details, dates can be set up via email. This is a one day visit
to the Clinic in Budapest. The appointment for the consultation can be set
up by email. If you write me when you could come I can get back to you with
availability. There is no waiting list in our clinic but you should give me
a few weeks notice to make sure that enough time can be spent with you.
Most IVF cycles are preceeded by some type of pretreatment. Most often this
is a brief course of oral contraceptives. The stimulation is started after
the pill. You can do the first 5 days of stimulation while at home, we only
need to see you on day 6 of stimulation. Usually another 5 days of
stimulation follows before we move on with the egg retrieval and embryo
transfer. This altogether means a 10-12 days stay in Budapest. You may
travel as early as the day of transfer.
The total expense of an IVF treatment is made up of three parts. The
evaluation (consultation, labs, ultrasound etc.) is about 300 EUR if done
by us. Most of the evaluation can be performed by your local physician as
well. An IVF cycle is 1500 EUR, if ICSI is needed as well it is an
additional 500 EUR. If the medications are purchased in Hungary on average
they cost 600-800 EUR. Medication costs vary however based on ovarian
response. Please let us know if you have any further questions about our
IVF program!
Sincerely,
Peter Kovacs MD

All the best,
Sue
I am a 38 years old woman, I had kids before I married my present husband. And I also had my tubes tied for the pass 5 years, is it possible for me to have kids again? If so pls advise me how do I goabout the IVF thing? pls tell me how much is the cost
glad you are getting to move forward
my wife and i would love to have a baby. i am 52 and she is 37. she has one child, age 12, and she was conceived by in-vitro. what can we do safely but yet financially feasible?
Hi James,
As far as the research that I have done I have not found anything that seems to indicate that IVF is anything but safe. I had the same question as you – what can we do that is financially feasible? It certainly seems much more financially feasible to go abroad and I have found that, being in the UK, Hungary is much cheaper for the treatment and is easily accessible with a short flight and well priced accommodation – as well as being a beautiful country. It is worth emailing Peter Kovacs to see how he can help. The information that he gave me can be found at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information and his email address is info@ivfpregnancycenter.com – he is generally very quick at answering emails.
I wish you the very best of luck,
Sue
I’m 35 years old and have a son. My partner and I have no fertility problems and no genetic material problems at all but would like to have a baby girl using a scientifically sure way as we have always wanted to have 2 children only. How much will that cost us?
Hi Annie,
I must admit I don’t know how much gender selection costs. I know that it is possible in many of the Indian clinics. It could be worth giving My Kini a call, I know he does it – see the posting for his clinic at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-miracle-advanced-reproduction-research-centre-india-great-information.
All the best,
Sue
hi,i am 40 yrs woman, i am planing to do ivf. i live in uk.and working . how many month need for ivf treatmentplease replay for me thanks
Hi Laxmi,
The amount of time that you have to spend in the country to undergo the IVF treatment varies depending on which clinic you go to. For my treatment in the Kaali Inst in Hungary I need to be there for 2 weeks – this seems to be fairly standard but some clinics do want you for 3 or 4 weeks. It is one of the questions that I asked each of the clinics when I emailed them, so the length of time you need to be there is generally given in the posting for the clinic. To see these responses go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, click on the country you are interested in, then click on the title for the clinic you are interested in – their full response to my email will be there.
All the best,
Sue
Thank you so much for the imformations shared.
It’s a pleasure Joseph, the more we share the easier it becomes for other people – or that’s my hope at least!

Estoy interesada en el costo total o un aproximado costo para una inseminacion o un IVF. Se les agradase su pronta contestacion y ayuda.
Hi Aide,
From my post on the Kaali Inst. at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information, the costs are:
“The total expense of an IVF treatment is made up of three parts. The evaluation (consultation, labs, ultrasound etc.) is about 300 EUR (approx. US$410) if done by us. Most of the evaluation can be performed by your local physician as well. An IVF cycle is 1500 EUR (approx. US$2,035), if ICSI is needed as well it is an additional 500 EUR (approx. US$680). If the medications are purchased in Hungary on average they cost 1000-1200 EUR (approx. US$1,355 – US$1,625). Medications costs vary however based on ovarian response.”
All the best,
Sue
Hola Aide,

I stumbled upon this website because I write articles for an online paper whcih pays almost nothing, however I am an infertility survivor and this gives me a forum to hopefully help others in my situation. I am posting here for two reasons, one there is a drawing at CNY fertility center in NY for free IVF giveaway as a promotion for infertility awareness week. I will post a link as soon as I write something up on it. Also, my husband and I had 3 miscarriages, followed by 10 yrs of unexplained infertility, and then clomid with a miscarriage, one IVF resulting in another miscarriage, and then one more IVF cuminating in a negative result. Following, I needed a break, and decided to do my own research. Now, mind you, I had very good Dr’s as my IVF physicans, Dr Sher to name one. They all told me unexplained infertility, well also some very rare autoimmune issues. I took all the recommended additions to the normal IVF protocol including IVIG and heparin shots. Anyway, during my break I concluded that I may have an acidic uterine environment, and as such would have an issue if my husband had more male sperm than female. So, I removed all acid producing foods and began taking a pregnancy tea with red rasberry leaf in it. One month later I was pregnant, I new that it had to be a boy, and sure enough without any problems I gave birth to a beautiful little baby boy. Wait there’s more, when my son was about 15 months old we became pregnant with…you quessed it another boy. I now have a 32 month old and an 8month old boy! Also, the tea was the only addition I made, now you may call it a coincidence, however I have 3 more people who became pregnant, all with boys and all with primary or secondary infertility after drinking the tea. Anyway, I hope this helps someone. My Dr’s told me that I needed to explore other options, meaning surrogacy, and or adoption because they did everything and couldn’t believe that I didn’t fall pregnant. Also, we put back 4(chemical pregnancy) and 3 embryos. I implore you to do the research yourselves, NO embryo can live in a hostile environment, so whether or not you put in one embryo or 20 the results will still be the same. I wish you all an armful of happiness.

Thanks for this Kat1323. May I ask what you needed to do to remove all acid producing foods from your diet?
All the best,
Sue
Sue,
Truthfully, to remove acid from my diet I simply just stopped drinking orange juice, which is something I did quiet often in case I did happen to get pregnant and need the folic acid. I also did not eat high acid producing foods, such as tomatoes. I just did a quick search on alkaline and red raspberry leaf as I think this was the major addition that helped me not only conceive, but carry to term. This is what I found. “Dr. Jensen believes we should have seventy percent alkaline-forming foods and thirty percent acid-forming foods. When we say that, we’re not talking about acid fruits and non-acid fruits. We’re talking about the fact that all fruits and vegetables, in their final breakdown, have an alkaline effect on the body, and starches, even good starches, even good grains, have an acid effect. So in order to keep a good acid/alkaline balance in the pH of the body, you need to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables—a lot more than we’re eating.” retrieved from http://www.goodhealthinfo.net/herbalists/diane_brigida.htm
I hope this helps. The only other addition I can add is that, trying to remove acid you have the possibility of having to everything to gain and nothing to loose.
Good Luck!
Thanks Kat1323, very helpful.
I have read that red raspberry leaf tea is for the latter stages of pregnancy and is thought to be harmful in the early stages. Obviously you did not find this. I’ll give it a go.
All the best,
Sue
Sue,
You’re right I also found the same literature, however it has been used in China for centuries. Yet, because I was worried I used Pregnancy Tea by traditional medicinals, however I’m sure their are alot of brands out there. Also, red raspberry leaf is used in large amounts to prepare for birth, but for this purpose the amount is minimal, again as I said pregnancy tea worked best for me. I do think that Dr’s are busy (rightfully so considering their work) looking for the large problem that they sometimes miss the very simple important fact that the home of the uterus must be a heathly environment for the baby to develop. My Dr told us we had a dq alpha issue, I had ATA’s and APA’s (rare), and that I would need IVIG to have any hope of having a baby, so I took it faithfully, and not even a glimmer of a BFP. Also, when I was 10 weeks along I called my dr scared and asked if I would need IVIG, he told me that it was probably too late and that I might miscarry, granted at this point I was spotting. I just seem to spot with my pregnancies however, and I went on as I said to have an uneventful yet wonderful pregnancy.
Again Good Luck! I really do wish you and everyone here all the best as I know this road is a difficult one.
Also, I did write a quick article about the CNY IVF giveaway here’s the link if anyone needs it.

Hi Jharenz,
The best way is to put any of the costs given on the site (most have been converted in to US$) and put them through a currency converter. I use http://www.xe.com/ucc/ which has SAR.

Hi Aparna,
Check out the costs of Indian IVF clinics at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/india – there are a few to choose from there.
I found some of the tea Kat1323 talks about at Amazon of all places, but I don’t know where you would get it in India.

The only figure I have ever found for the Dominican Republic was one of US$8,300. This was an actual figure from 2008 but unfortunately I don’t know which clinic it was for.
All the best,
Sue
We just married and are ready to have a child. I am 46 and he in 40 . We need the most effective and least costly rought.
Hi April,
Do you have any thoughts on what part of the world you want to go to? Knowing which is the most effective clinic is the hardest question of all, and one I wish we could all find the answer to! If you know which part of the world you want to go (a rough guide to the costs for each country can be found at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/a-comparison-of-the-ivf-cost-worldwide), then check out the postings for the clinics I have had responses from in that country by clicking on the country name at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, and then on the clinic names. Some of the clinics do have comments from people who have used them, which is always very useful indeed.

hi…. i’ve been a fan of your website for a long time. i wanted to ask for your advise…. i would like to have ivf treatment abroad (live in the uk) with an egg donor… but dont know the cost of this. is it cheaper or more expensive than normal ivf? roughly how much does it cost as your price list is only for ivf. thank you so much…
Hi Sandra,
IVF with donor eggs is more expensive than standard IVF as you are also paying for the eggs. In South Africa the cost of Donor Egg IVF is $5000 – $6000 (http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-in-south-africa-with-donor-eggs-or-surragacy-good-price-and-a-great-idea) I don’t have the cost of Donor Egg IVF for many clinics but if you have a clinic / country in mind let me know and I’ll ask them for you.
All the best,
Sue
Hi Sue,
Just to let you know we went and saw Dr Kovacs what a wonderfull man and everything went well. Brought the drugs back to the UK!! and start my injections on Aug 16th and fly back out on the 22nd to have the treatment, everything seems to be going too well at the moment!!! Apart from taking folic acid is there anything else you recommend in readiness? Oh and havent needed a mammogram but thanx for getting back to me anyway.
Once again many thnx for your hard efforts on this site u really are helping soo many people will keep u posted.
Hi Mandy,
That is fantastic, I have my fingers crossed for you. Peter Kovacs is great isn’t he. I think the main thing is to keep your stress levels down – difficult when you’re pumping yourself full of injections and wondering what the outcome will be! Perhaps a good time to pamper yourself with massages and spa days (Hungary is a great place for massages and spas!)
We wish you so much luck, can’t wait to hear how you get on.
Sue xxx
hi am 36yrs lady no kids i have been trying for a long time nothing happen ,i went for blood test i find at that i have thyriod and my period have have stop for a long time do u think ivf will be good for me? pls reply me
Hi Sussess,
You’re in a very similar situation to the one I found myself in, only you’re younger. You will need to get your thyroid issue sorted out – I got put on thyroxine – as this apparently has an impact on the success of IVF, but then IVF should be suitable for you. Have a chat with you GP about the thyroid then contact one of the IVF clinics about their treatment. The fact that your periods have stopped should not matter.
I wish you every luck.
All the best,
Sue
Hi,
I am a 57 year old woman living in the USA, Idaho. I have known for quite some time that I cannot become pregnant. I heard about the 70 year old woman in India that gave birth to a baby girl recently. Although i am not that old, it inspired me to think about trying to have a baby through the same process that this woman succeeded in. I would really like to know the best way to go about things at a reasonable cost. I would also like to know where would be the best and closest area to achieve a successful IVF treatment.
I have always wanted a child of my own.
Thank you for your time and am looking forward to a response asap,
Cynthia Aldana
Hi Cynthia,
The closest place for you would probably be Mexico (check out the clinics I have information for at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/mexico). I don’t know what their age policy is in Mexico, some clinics do have a maximum age they will treat – for many of them I have passed that maximum age too! But don’t give up, there are clinics out there with no age limit, although I would imagine they will be recommending donor eggs – many of them did for me. If you find Mexico is not suitable send me another message letting me know if there are any countries you would not be interested in going to and I’ll ask some of the clinics if they would treat you.
I wish you every luck.
All the very best,
Sue xx
Hi again Cynthia,
I have just had a look through my records, and although I do not have a record of the maximum age a clinic will treat for many of the clinics I do have it for a few. The following clinics have no maximum age restrictions:
1. NEW IVF TEAM gmo@online.ms http://newivf.com Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
2. Die KinderWunschKlinik, Fertility Center Wels office@BABY4you.at http://www.baby4you.at Austria
3. Center for Human Reproduction “Dimitrov” plamen@ivf.zzn.com http://www.invitro.bg Bulgaria
4. West Mexico Fertility a.chavez@badiolaconsultores.com Mexico
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Sue
Pl can any body send the approx cost for IVF and success rate of IVF.
Can any body suggest one good hospital of IVF in Pune, India.
Urgent reply is appreciated.

Debashis
Hi Debashis,
I’m afraid the only clinics I have had a response from in India are shown at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/india. Hopefully somebody else may have some suggestions.
All the best,
Sue
hi sue,
thanks for your response…. i live in london. so would like somewhere nearer. we found today my husband’s sperm is low (5%)…:( — a friend has volunteered to be a donor!!
might consider… please advise me, in your experience is: icsi with known donor in uk more expensive than icsi with unknown donor abroad???? thanks for your time…
Hi Sandra,
I’m afraid I don’t know enough about the cost with donor eggs but I would imagine that in some countries, such as Hungary, the cost with unknown donor eggs will be cheaper than the cost in the UK with known donor eggs. You could drop Peter Kovacs at the Kaali Inst an email at info@ivfpregnancycenter.com and ask the price (these are one of the cheapest around Europe, so fairly close to you, and they are great)
All the best,
Sue
thankyou for your VERY prompt reply…. i just wrote to Dr. Peter Kovacs – will let you know his response. thanks
Hi i was just wondering if you can tell me all the information i need to know about IVF, im 26 years old, have a severe case of endometriosos and im having my third operation in 3 years for ovarian cysts. Any information is greatful.
Thanking you
amy caffrey
Hi Amy,
I have had a response regarding your situation, please see below.
All the best,
Sue
Response:
dear amy
endometriosis is a repeating problem. are u draining the cyst transvaginally or laparascopically or opening the abdomen? ivf increases the chance of pregnancy . as pregnancy stops menstruation for a long time ur suffering will be less. . expansion of many organs during pregnancy helps in decreasing the endometritic adhesions. sometimes the tubes are affected . ivf helps in that case also.

Thanks for everything, I’m so glad that I spoke to you and found such a wonderful fertility treatment. If you need to visit this hospital then feel free here: 1.303.578.0719, info@placidway.com
I have had a very good experience with the Anadolu clinic just outside Istanbul. I did lots of research on clinic in Turkey and asked similar questions to Sue. This clinic was my first choice http://www.anadolumedicalcentre.co.uk/
They also said there was no wait list. I tested the latter out by asking on the Thursday, if I could arrive on Sunday to start treatment the next week – they said no problem. So, after deciding on the Thursday, I confirmed with hospital (and accommodation), I booked flights on Friday, spent Saturday cancelling appointments and meetings. Flew out Sunday, saw doctor on Monday, started IVF on Tuesday. It was all a bit of a rush, but as my husband said – why wait, you will just be another month older next month?
The Anadolu International patient team speak several languages and most (if not all) speak English as well. They are incredibly organised, friendly and professional and are always available to assist. They accompany you to appointments (although the doctors speak English, they translate for the nurses) and answer any questions you have. They arrange some of the logistics (e.g. accommodation and airport transfers). The best thing is that if feels like you are getting a personalised service.
18. Costs (PLEASE Be aware of different currencies below – also costs are approximate as some were translated from Turkish Lira)
18.1. Blood tests:
18.1.1. Female blood/hormone tests: Euros 300 (I had them done at clinic)
18.2. Medication (total cost was 1700 Euros):
18.2.1. Puregon 600 IU = Euro 250 (3750 IU was my total dosage cost about 1250 Euros). For interests sake – the vials contain a little more than is written on the box – so a 600 IU actually has about 700 IU in it, which meant I saved a whole box by using up the whole of the vial before moving onto the next one). This is a high dosage – probably because of my age and thus this meant much higher costs than originally expected on the medication side.

Hi MFMCMOO,
Thank you very much for this information, very useful. Can’t wait to hear how you get on – we’ve got our fingers crossed for you.
All the very best,

Hello, everyone!
I wanted to answer the question pertaining to the Donor Egg IVF cycles. We work with several clinics that offer excellent donor egg programs. Depending on the complexity of the IVF procedure (e.g. ICSI, etc.), the all inclusive Donor Egg IVF package will start at $12,999. This package includes airfare for two, airport transfers, hotel accommodations, and egg donor fees. We can also offer you two or three cycle IVF programs, if you are interested. Our two cycle program is priced at $14,499 (this price does not include travel costs associated with the second trip). Our IVF doctors and you can discuss various options with you.
If I can be of any further assistance, don’t hesitate to contact me. My email address is Heidi@theMedVacation.com
Hi,
My name is Joicy Prem, i studied medicine in poznan. Iam from Norway. I have some questions regarding IVF. is it possible i can call you? I tok my first IVF in Norway and it didnt go very well. Thanks in advanced!

Hi! I just had a failed IVF this month in Philippines. I’m 36 y.o and my husband has poor sperm quality, motility and morphology. 4eggs were harvested and only one got fertilized. I got a positive HCG on the 14th day after transfer but it dropped after another 5days. So sad! Now, we’re considering either Taiwan or Thailand. Which of these two you think would help me have greater chance? thanks much!
Wishful2010, if our doctors were to look at your case, we would need a bit more information from you. We typically asked our prospective patients to fill out our multi-page IVF questionnaire. The purpose of this form to get as much pertinent information as possible. Often our doctors get back to you with more questions or with a request to get some additional testing done.
I don’t know whether you address your post to me or the group. If you were asking me, send me a note and I will forward you our questionnaire. By the way, what country do you reside in?
Don’t lose your hopes….. stay strong…. and hopefully you will be blessed with a miracle!
Good day. I would like to knoe th what the cost of an IVF procedure in South Africa. Does medical aid cover thr cost or part thereof.

i would like to fall pregnant and want to know the cost for IVF
Hi Chantelle,
The cost depends on which country / clinic you attend. For details on the cost in Kaali Inst in Hungary go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information, otherwise go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information and click on the country you are interested in, then click on the clinics for cost details.
All the best,
Sue

i am hiv positive person with a hiv negative wife who isa reproductive health person, we intend to try spermwashing, what could it cost us.please help
The clinics we work with don’t offer IVF to HIV positive patients. I don’t have to tell you that this is a very delicate matter. I heard of a clinic in Spain that work with HIV positive patients. Perhaps the moderator (the owner of this blog) has more information on this. I wish you the best in your search.
Hi Sue
Iv been coming here on and off for the last 2 years and loving everything that you’ve done!
Just to share my own experience.
Im a Malaysian living in the California. We’ve been married for 6yrs and been trying to get pregnant eversince but have only started getting serious into it since 2009. We’ve had several incident with our insurance on this matter (infertility treatment) and it drove me mad. Anyways, our insurance doesn’t cover ivf and 50% of iui which they quoted ard $2k not incl the test (blood and semen and what-not). We decided to go to outside doctor/hospital to do iui at the cost of ard $1.5k (on clomid and w/o scanning so it was basically shooting blind). Of course we didn’t get pregnant.
I then told my husband that we should do ivf in Malaysia. I know he wouldn’t be able to be with me the whole time but at least it won’t make us bankrupt!
We decided on HUKM (Hospital University Kebangsaan Malaysia) in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia because it’s a semi-government hospital with private wings. Infertility dept is 1 of their private sector/dept but some things would be done at the hospital which helps bring down the cost. Also because my younger brother and his wife did iui there about 6yrs ago and they now have 5-yr old triplets!
Anyways, we went back during the month of ramadhan/syawal(Eid) of the muslim calendar months (August/Sept 2010) and my period came just before Eid which is a holiday in Malaysia, we weren’t able to do ivf because they were all on holiday leave. My husband had to go back to the US before they open so we had no choice but to freeze his semen. I think that cost us RM150 @ $50.
I started on my hormone medication (puregon) immediately on the next cycle and after he left for the US. Due to my short cycle, my follicles weren’t responding to the medication and after upping and taking it for 16days, i decided to stop and just wait until next cycle ad start fresh. My first cycle of puregon cost us ard RM4k @ $1.3k. The next cycle the doctor started me on a slightly higher dosage for 5 days and continue with another medication Orgalutron to prevent me fr ovulating too early.
To cut the story short, the 2nd cycle was better than the 1st and they took out 4 follicles but only managed to transfer 2. the cost for ivf was around RM5k @ $1.7k. I left for US a week after the transfer with some shots that I need to take twice weekly. With the help of a letter from the hospital, I was allowed to carry them in the cooler bag together with an ice pack into the flight.
All in all our cost was around RM15k @ $5k. It would have been cheaper if only I chose to take the Orgalutron on the 1st cycle but, oh well, we learn from our mistake. lol.
I took the hpt last sat (day 18 after transfer) and it was positive. We haven’t been to the doctor to check the beta yet but will soon.
My doctor is Prof Dr Mohd Hashim and here is the link to the hospital.
http://www.ppukm.ukm.my/index.php?menuid=MN09060019
we just started our cycle, were told it would be only $14,000US in whole except for meds. we paid the $14k, then another $200, then another $1000, still looks like we are going to have to continue paying for additional “Lab” work that shouled, but once they have you started, you would lose all the money you already invested. Also, the pharmacy THEY want us to use, with the insurance paying a little still wants over $4,000.
I have found that Doctors do get kickbacks and that no all the massive amounts of medicines are needed, we have scheduled a discussion with the Docotr to find out why the $ amounts were so scewed, other looking to go through the IVF process, it can work very well, but can get Extra expensive if you aren’t doing your homework!
Hi Fingers Crossed,
It’s not good that they give you a quote then add loads of extras to it. Which clinic are you using?
Best of luck with your treatment, and please do let us know how you get on.
All the best,
Sue xx
Hi Japhetkibet,
I know that Nairobi IVF Centre in Kenya will treat HIV patients, I think they have a seperate section for it (check out http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-the-nairobi-ivf-centre-kenya-great-information) – from the communications I have had with Mr Olegs Tucs, he is great!
I also believe that Sandton in South Africa will treat HIV patients (http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-sandton-fertility-centre-south-africa)
I didn’t know about the clinic in Spain, so thanks for that Hiedi – do you know which clinic it is?
All the best,
Sue
@fingers crossed, that was the main reason why we decided that we’re not gonna do ivf in the US because all the doctors/hospitals that we asked for a quote would always tell us, “the ivf would be around $10k but (there’s always but!) that’s not incl of medication and other expenses”. We just can’t afford the uncertainties.
But since you’ve already started with the treatment, i wish you both the best of luck and that it would be a success!
Hi we have been married for the last 13 years and in the first year i got baby girl. after that we tried but i could n;t succeed. i am 33 years of age and my husband is 35. we are looking for the IVF treatment . we are residing in sydney (australia). so plz give us the complete details about the cost and the treatment.
Early response will be appreciated.
tHanks
Sue, hi!
I apologize for the delay in responding to you. We had holidays in the States and I was out of office for a few days.
I did some research for you. I believe FIV Center in Madrid offers IVF for HIV positive patients.
I hope this is helpful.
fingers crossed, hi!
I understand your frustration with your local clinic. Sorry to hear about that. I agree with the other folks who commented on your post. At this point, it makes sense to go through with your planned treatments.
fingers crossed, we receive questions pertaining to the cost of IVF meds on regular basis http://www.themedvacation.com/blog_menapur_gonal_F_dosage_for_IVF_ovulation_stimulation
If it makes you feel better, it is not a simple task to estimate the cost of your meds. There are jus too many variables and your IVF drugs should be constantly adjusted based on your lab work.
I also agree with some other comments made here. The very same IVF drugs overseas are typically a half as much of what we pay in the States. We normally tell our patients that medications can range from $1500 to $2200. We typically include Menapur for free. However, Menapur is rarely used alone. Typicaly, if you are planning to use your own eggs, doctors will prescribe Gonal F. Gonal F is quite expensive, even if you pay a half price overseas.
Oooops, I forgot to mention that the older the patient the more medication will be required.
hy,
My loving wife have required to ivf treatement due to blockage pls. advice cost of ivf by rtn mail with contact detail

Hi Kirsty,
This may be true if you are trying to get treatment on the National Health Service or equivalent, however the clinics featured on this blog are generally private clinics and they will normally be prepared to treat you.
All the best,
Sue

Hi Kirsty,
Sorry to hear that not being able to have a baby has caused problems, I can certainly understand the strain it causes on a relationship, but always remember that the most important thing is having each other.
Details for the costs at Kaali Inst. can be found at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information. If you are interested in a different country try browsing through the clinics when you click on the country from http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information.
All the best,
Sue
Dear Nirmala,
Sorry to hear you have had problems conceiving. If you are considering IVF where are you thinking of going? It is certainly worth talking to one of the doctors about your issues, they are generally very approachable and very helpful. If you wanted to contact Peter Kovacs his email address is info@ivfpregnancycenter.com.
All the best,
Sue
Dear Melissa,
It certainly would be worth speaking to one of the doctors about how IVF could help you. The costs vary dramatically according to which country and clinic you are considering. Browse through some of the clinics that have replied to my letter requesting information and it will give you an idea of what they offer and their prices. If you go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, click on a country in the list, then clic on the clinic title, you will find the information they sent me. Many of the posts have a wed address or email on them; if not, and you are looking to contact them let me know and I’ll get their contact details for you.
All the best,
Sue

Hey Guys,
Just wondering how much the cost is for IVF treatment in Qatar and Croatia. My wife may need treatment in the near future. Any info from both countries would be super. Thank you very much!!
Hi Mark,
Unfortunately I don’t have any information on clinics in Qatar or Croatia (if you manage to get some it would be great if you could share it here).
I do know of two clinics in Croatia:
University Hospital Sisters of Charity

Phone: +38513787597
Web-site: http://www.kbsm.hr/ivf
Moderni Medicinski Centar
Address: Zvonimirova 26, Zagreb, Croatia, 10000
Phone: +38598233209
In Qatar you could try contacting these:
Elajmd
Doha, Qatar
Tel: +9744-443-1254
Website: http://www.elajmd.com/infertilityhome.htm
Hamed Hospital
Doha – Qatar
Website: http://www.hmc.org.qa/hmcnewsite/
(Apparently the doctors are supposed to be great but the receptionists terrible!)
Hope this helps.
All the best,
Sue
A lot of centers offer programs to make IVF more affordable that are worth checking out. For example, CHR in new york will lower the cost if you are a US citizen and your insurance does not cover the costs. I believe there are other centers that offer similar financial help. Here is the CHR’s info: http://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/ivf_cost.html

Hi,
my name is dorcas from kenya i have read your postings and really want to know after your visit in Kaali what went on and were you successfull
I really pray and hope that you got the much needed baby all the best and thanks for the good work.
Dorcas
Hi Dorcas,
I didn’t actually go on to do the full IVF. Nothing to do with the clinic, it was just my personal circumstances where life took over, our business got very busy and we just didn’t seem to create the time to get back. I have had a number of corresponses about the Khalli Inst. from others who have been there and I must say they have all been positive.
All the best,
Sue

I’m a 29 year old singlr woman seeking adviceon IVF, the cost and the time it will take.
Thanks
Dear Evans,
The cost and the time it takes for IVF depends on which country and clinic you go to. To get an overview of the costs in different countries have a look at the table at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/a-comparison-of-the-ivf-cost-worldwide. To find the actual costs at a particular clinic go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, click on the country you are interested in and then click on the clinic heading and it will give you the reply, generally including all the costs and time required, which the clinic gave me in response to my letter.
All the best,
Sue
Evans, hi!
I wanted to answer your question in regards to length of stay. You actually have a few options. Although your fertility clinic would prefer you to stay at the clinic for the entire IVF cycle, some patients may reduce the number of days spent abroad by way of initial ovulation stimulation by a local OBGYN doctor. Here is how the process works.
Since your fertility doctor will be located outside your home country, you could use your local OBGYN practice for certain procedures in the beginning of the cycle. The local OBGYN could administer fertility drugs to do the ovulation induction, as well as monitor the progress (e.g. ultrasounds exams). Your fertility doctors abroad should be able to work closely with yours to get everything ready for the next step. Since your fertility treatments will start on the first day of your menstrual cycle, you can spend the first seven days at home. This type of protocl would require you to travel on the eighth day, so that the fertility doctors could see you on the ninths day. On the ninth day your fertility specialist should take over the proces and also perform an ultrasound test and do some blood work that day.

Hi Sue,
I have not seen too many posts regarding IVF in Israel. I noticed a few people seeking clinics where HIV positive patients can obtain treatments. I have some connections with a clinic in Israel that does take on patients with compromised immune systems. In addition, Israel’s IVF cost is about $5000-6000 per cycle.
It is an amazing place where tourism, spirituality, and very high quality treatment can be sort. More IVF cycles per capita are done in Israel than anywhere else in the world. It is a place that is spiritual for three major religions, so excellent treatment combined with a spiritual connection might be a great combination for someone trying to have a baby. Check out http://www.parentbound.com for journeys to Israel for IVF. It could be a solution for many seeking treatment.
Hi Mara,
Thank you for the information, very interesting.
If you would like to write a piece, addressing the questions I asked other clinics (http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/letter-requesting-ivf-cost-ivf-success-rate-and-other-information) then I would be happy to put up a posting for you.
All the best,

Hey Doc,
i just realized i had PCOD after i missed my periods for four months in Feb.
am 26 turning 27 in July.my gynae told me i wait fro two months see if my periods come. i am starting to panic am not married but i need to get a baby as i have read articles of seems it can be quite challenging. Dorice,Charity Tsama and Chalma..kindly get in touch with me with your experiences. i am to go back and see a gynae this month.Charity,i had been informed a laparoscopy is guaranteed solution to this condition and conception is highly likely? my email is youngbankeress@gmail.com
dear young
to get panicked is like acceleration of a falling object , more u fall more u suffer. for pcos metformin is a good drug. 500 mg twice dailiy initially. in full stomach.. trice after a month for 5 months. but be sure ur fsh tsh and prolactin hormones r fine
Young, hi!
PCOS with IVF can be tricky because with so many follicles they all do not grow appropiately and the egg quality is not always the best. Nevertheless, PCOS is not the end of the world and many women have successful IVF cycles despite having this condition (www.themedvacation.com/blog_Polycystic_Ovary_Syndrome_treatments_IVF_succcess_rates). PCOS cases have to be monitored very closely with blood test and ultrasound. Currently our pregnancy rate with PCOS patients is 55%.
Young, your IVF protocol will look a bit different. Sometimes patients may need to be on Metformin. We will order lab work to see whether the patient has high levels of LH hormones. You will probably do an IVF with Gonal F and Luveris which is just LH no Menapur, as patients with PCOS cannot be given too much FSH.
I hope this is helpful.
im 27 yearsold i have 2 kidz and i have tubal ligation and now im married again and i would love to have another baby, but i cant do a reversal tubal ligation because i dont have any fimbria and the doctor told me my only option is the IVF i would like to know whats the cost and if u have some financed or payments plans for the treatment. thanks
what is the cost of ivf with drugs and when do i need to be there how long before my piriod
My husband and i are hoping to start IVF once i have had a laparoscopy to remove a 7 cm cyst from my left ovary. The clinic we have chosen in London is a reasonable price but it doesnt state how much the drugs will cost. Is there an average cost for drugs?
Hi Lyns,
I just found a link giving the average prices for the UK:
The price of a baby, maybe
Figures are indicative and vary from clinic to clinic
— Initial consultation £150-£250
— Basic IVF treatment £2,500-£3,500 Usually includes doctor’s fees for egg collection and embryo transfer, embryologist’s fees for invitro fertilisation, anaesthetics, ultrasound scans, theatre charges
— Intracytoplasmic sperm injection £1,000 on top of usual IVF fees. Creation of embryos by direct injection of sperm into egg, procedure used for male infertility but increasingly common in standard IVF
— Hormonal drugs Not included in standard IVF fees. Costs can be very variable, from £500 to £2,000. Precise cost will depend on which drugs are prescribed for stimulating the ovaries. A Times Body&Soul survey also found high variation in prices charged by pharmacists
— Embryo freezing Sometimes included in basic IVF costs. Other clinics charge about £500, plus £250 a year for storage and between £800 and £2,500 for later thawing and transfer
— Other investigations Immunological therapies: up to £1,250 Preimplantation genetic screening, to pick the best embryos: £2,000-£3,000 Both procedures are offered by a few clinics, though there is little published evidence that they are effective
HFEA regulatory fee £104.50 Charged separately by some clinics, and rolled into the general cost by others

Sue, hi!
Have you heard of the on-line pharmacy IVFMEDS.COM by any chance? Some of our clients used it to order their meds? I am curious what other folks thought about this online pharmacy.
Heidi
Hi Heidi,
I’ve heard of them but I’ve never used them. How have your clients found them for price and quality?
All the best,
Sue
Hi, Sue!
From what we have heard, they were good. The company had a pretty good response rate and was thorough. They carry most meds for normal cycles. The prices were lower than those in the U.S. ……. but that doesn’t mean much for us, because we probably have the highest prices in the world. One of our clients claims that the prices were 25-30 less than anywhere else. She told us she had checked in Canada and Israel also. There is a minor issue with shipping meds to the States – it takes 14 days. Even with rush orders, the company says it will take at least 5 days because of customs clearing.
So, overall, the reviews from our clients were positive. Keep in mind that we don’t have too many clients who purchased their meds from this place. That’s why I asked you
Heidi
can yuo tell me the cast of icsi
Dear Sir or madam,
I would like to take the opportunity this evening to write you a quick message to see how you are and to say that i am fine thank you.
My husband and myself have been trying to concieve for nearly five years now without any sucess. We have both been diagnosed with different problems such as low sperm count, Pcos and underactive thryiod.
My periods are also a main concern because at the moment they aren’t regular enough to be able to tell when i might be fertile each month etc.
I have tried using different methods and techniques to become pregnant such as taking your temp in the morning and using a Boots Fertility Monitor but nothing seems to work for me.
We have been told by our local doctors surgery that with the problems which we both have, Ivf is our only option if we would like to concieve, but the waiting lists for the Nhs treatment are quite long.
My husband and myself are thinking about having Ivf either in England or abroad but privately, and wondered ifyou would be kind enough to give us some advice / information as we don’t know where to start or what to do.
Kind Regards
Samantha
Hi Samantha,
Unfortunately I don’t really have information on clinics in England as the reason I started this blog was because the English clinics were so expensive I thought I would look around the rest of the world to find a cheaper option. I have been to Kaali Inst. in Hungary which is very well priced and the staff there are exceedingly good – you can see details on the clinic at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/ivf-cost-at-kaali-inst-ivf-centre-hungary-great-information.
Whichever clinic you are interested in the first stage would be to contact them (the contact details are on some of the postings, or you can contact me and I will pass a message on) and look to make an initially appointment to see the doctor there. From that point on the clinic should guide you through the process.
You can get information on different clinics by going to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, clicking on the country you are interested in, then clicking on the clinic heading.
All the best,
Sue

The only clinics I have information on In South Africa are shown at http://www.ivfcost.net/tag/south-africa. Unfortunately the doctor at Sandton does not tend to reply to the emails I forward on to him, however the ladies at Nurture are great and always reply very promptly. I have no personal experience of either of them other than through email correspondence I’m afraid.

Cost of IVF treatment for woman age 48 by donate eggs
i am enquiring about the costs of ivf
i am enquiring about the costs of ivf in the uk or options that are viable
Hi Brett,
In the UK the average cost of IVF is £3,500, however medications and diagnostic tests can push this up to over £8,000 – which is why I set up this blog to see if there were other countries where you could get the treatment cheaper.
If you want to look at other countries a guideline for the costs can be found in the table at http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/a-comparison-of-the-ivf-cost-worldwide. If you then go to http://www.ivfcost.net/ivf-cost/welcome-to-everybody-who-is-looking-for-ivf-cost-information, click on the country you are interested in then click on the clinic heading. This will give you all the information the clinic provided me with regarding their costs, success rates and procedure.

Sue
